Idle timeout

The Idle timeout counts the period of inactivity and returns the survey to the Intro Screen after a predefined period of time. For example, when you put your survey or quiz on an unmanned iPad in a store, and you don’t want to leave the survey half-open when someone quits in the middle of the survey.

This guide will teach you:

  1. Activate Idle Timeout
  2. Enter the timeout value

1. Activate Idle Timeout

Go to the Extra Options tab. Scroll down to Kiosk mode options and click Idle timeout.

Idle timeout- activate idle timeout

2. Enter the timeout value

You will then see this box with the following options:

Idle timeout- enter timeout value

When you toggle the button to activate this feature, you will then be able to choose the value in seconds. You can also choose to keep the data of an incomplete questionnaire by turning on save data before the questionnaire restarts.

Make sure you click Save changes so all your changes will be saved!

What's next?

  • Kiosk mode - When you don't have the time or staff to operate your survey devices, such as a tablet, you can leave the tablet in kiosk mode at your event. Given that the questionnaire can automatically return to the Intro Screen, no staff is required.
  • The offline survey tool is perfect when conducting a survey at an event, in restaurants and shops, or if you want to conduct street interviews or surveys. Our offline survey tool offers all the convenience of an online survey, but it works when your internet connection is unstable or even if there's no WIFI connection at all.

  • Presentation view: allows you to use your results in a presentation. You can easily switch between questions and show the answers and graphs in a clean and visual way to your audience. The Presentation view will use your colors and logo. You can also use it when you are polling your audience at an event and show the live results as they come in.
