A Campaign shows a group of questionnaires all in one screen which can be accessed with just a single link. Respondents can view a menu which contains all questionnaires and then they can click the questionnaire that they want to complete.
You'll be able to give access to the entire selection or only to one (or more) questionnaire(s) at a time. A campaign can be accessed anonymously or by name.
With this feature you can:
- See which questionnaires they have completed
- Check their scores
This guide will teach you:
- Create a new campaign
- Name your campaign
- Set up the menu
- Add your questionnaires
- Choose which questionnaires to show
- Share your campaign
1. Create a new campaign
Scroll down the Home screen to the section called All campaigns. Click Create campaign.
2. Name your campaign
Now you'll see a screen similar to the questionnaire screen. You can name your campaign and make your own link.
3. Set up the menu
3.2 Change your menu questionnaire settings
3.1 Introduce your campaign
It's time to enter an Intro text that will appear on the menu. This is the actual menu with the survey buttons that the respondent will see.
Write your Intro text here.
Make sure to write clearly what is expected of the respondents so they're not confused from the beginning. State if they can choose to do any questionnaire or if you'll want them all to be completed.
The Intro text appears on top of the list of questionnaires. Here's what your menu could look like:
3.2 Change your menu questionnaire settings
Head over to the right side of the screen to make changes to the menu questionnaire settings.
- Toggle this button if you want to show all active and inactive questionnaires in the menu.
- Show score next to the questionnaire - when a respondent has taken one of your quizzes or surveys where they can obtain a score, the score is shown on the menu next to that survey or quiz. You can only use this feature when you attach your respondents to the campaign upfront - learn more about using URL parameters to track campaign progress.
- If you want a refresh button, turn it on using this button. If your respondents are using their own device it might be useful to add the refresh button in order that they can easily refresh the page to see the latest updates.
4. Add your questionnaires
Click Add questionnaires to add your questionnaires to the campaign.
It's best to only add questionnaires once they are entirely finished as you can't make changes to the questions in the Campaigns screen. If changes are needed, go to the Home page and make your changes to the questionnaire from the list of All questionnaires. The changes you make will be automatically updated in your campaign questionnaire.
Now you can choose which of your questionnaires you want to add to the campaign. Click to Add the original questionnaire or Add as copy to copy the original questionnaire. If you add as copy and you need to make changes, make sure to change the copy and not the original so that the changes will be updated in your campaign.
Once you've added the questionnaires, they'll show up under the menu:
5. Choose which questionnaires to show
You can choose to show all the questionnaires in the menu, or only selected ones. Let's have a look at each option.
5.1 Show only one questionnaire
5.2 Show all questionnaires (and make only several accessible)
5.3 Only show several surveys/quizzes of your selection
5.1 Show only one questionnaire
Show one questionnaire when you want to give your respondents one link, and you can switch to different questionnaires when the timing is right.
You'll need to hide the menu - toggle the show button to the left.
Choose which of your questionnaires you want to show by toggling that one to Show and the others to be hidden.
Here's an idea for when showing one questionnaire can be used - send the link before a training session with a short survey about what to expect and ask respondents to bookmark the link. During the training, you can replace the questionnaire with a short interactive quiz and ask them to go back to the link. After the training, you can put your evaluation there.
5.2 Show all questionnaires (and make only several accessible)
Make sure your menu is set to show and you've turned on show all active and inactive questionnaires in the menu.
Choose from your questionnaire list which ones you are going to show by toggling the Show button. If you show them all, then they can be taken by the respondent at any time.
All questionnaires marked to be shown will appear as clickable buttons on the menu. Questionnaires that were marked to be hidden will appear as greyed-out buttons.
Use this type of menu to give your respondents a reason to come back to the link and show them what more will be coming.
5.3 Only show several surveys/quizzes of your selection
Make sure your menu is set to show and you've turned off show all active and inactive questionnaires in the menu.
Choose from your questionnaire list which ones you are going to show by toggling the Show button. If you show them all, then they can be taken by the respondent at any time.
Only questionnaires marked to be shown will appear as clickable buttons on the menu. Questionnaires that were marked to be hidden will not show up.
This type of menu with hidden questionnaires is perfect if you do not want to distract respondents or give them the feeling they'll have a lot of work answering everything. You can deactivate older surveys and activate the other surveys as you go.
6. Share your campaign
You can share your work, by link, by embedding it or by email.
What's next?
- URL Parameters to track campaign progress: A URL parameter is the final part of the URL which you can customize and use to identify someone. For example, to identify someone by their email address, the URL could look like this: pointerpro.com/pcsc/[email protected]
Campaign Leaderboard allows you to show the total results of your campaigns. The leaderboard will display the total result of all quizzes. For each participant or team, the custom score, quiz score, and time was taken are calculated by adding up the scores for all of the quizzes.
Require questionnaire sequence: You can require respondents to take the questionnaires in the order that they are presented. They will only gain access to the second questionnaire when they have completed the first one. You can only use this feature when you attach your respondents to the campaign upfront.
