Question grouping and question blocks feature allows you to show more than one inquiries on the screen to make your survey seem shorter. You can also activate or de-activate all inquiries in the same QB with the click of one button.
Question blocks (QB) is the tool that allows you to group your inquiries together. You can move questions between the QB and decide to which QB you will enable the question pool feature.

We'll use two rating queries that we want to be shown on the same screen to shorten the survey. That will help us to attract respondents and obtain more thorough insights and responses.
1. Add question blocks
You'll first need to create all your queries. Check out our guides on how to make a quiz or survey.
Go to the Extra Options tab and scroll down to find Question grouping & Question pool.
1.1 Create question blocks
Right now, all of your queries will be in one QB. If you want to group queries that are placed in the middle of your survey, then you'll need to create 3 QB: QB 1 will have the queries before the grouped queries, QB 2 will have the ones you want to group on the same screen and QB 3 will have the rest.
When you move queries to a later QB, their numbers will be automatically updated. For example, if you move Q4 from QB2 to QB3 and Q5 remains in QB2, then Q5 will be re-numbered as Q4 and Q4 will become Q5.
If you want to activate or de-activate all the content of a QB, simply click the relevant button that appears at the bottom of the queries list.
There is no feature yet to adjust the order of your QB after you have set this up. We recommend that you only add your QB after you have added all your queries. However, you can reorder them by adding a new QB and moving the relevant queries down.
1.2 Move to question blocks
To move your queries to different QB, click Create question block twice, to add two new QB and give a name at each title field.
Now we'll need to move the different queries to the correct QB. Select those you want to be shown on the same screen and choose QB2 from the drop-down menu to move them to QB 2.
Now you'll want to move the rest to QB 3.
If there are a lot of queries to be moved, select the check box on top of the list to select them all, then un-check the ones which you do not want to move.
If you need to delete a QB, be sure to move all its content to a different QB first. It is not possible to delete a QB that is not empty.
If you want to add a new query after your survey is fully complete, this will appear on the last QB you have created. You can move it to the QB you would like, however this will push the last query of that QB to the next one.
2. Group questions on the same screen
It's time to group them together on the same screen. In our example, those are found in QB 2. So click on 2 and toggle the button to group questions on the same screen.
You cannot have group questions on the same screen turned on at the same time as the question pool.
Make sure to apply and click save changes before you try to preview.
This is how our example will look:
Each QB with group questions on the same screen turned on represents a content box. So you can group your queries in several content boxes in your survey.
If you group the Slider (text), Slider (numbers), Radio Button Rating types of questions on the same screen, it will ask you to choose a Standard, Condensed, or Table Display and you will be able to create a grid or matrix question.
If you click on the Randomize your questions button, you will be able to randomize each times your queries automatically.
3. Background Image or Color
This feature is available only for the Enterprise and ReportR plans.
You can also adjust the background for a specific QB. You can either add a Background image of your choice or set up a Background color.
Don't forget to click Save changes and enjoy your survey.
- Outcomes is a feature that allows you to select what you will show to your respondents as a final screen, based on their answers to all inquiries or show a screen based on criteria that you have specified, such as a specific quiz score. This feature offers the possibility to create personality quizzes and business tests that end with personalised advice.
- The Custom Scoring feature allows you to give a score for each answer so that an overall score will be calculated at the end of the survey. It's useful for example to rate customer or employee satisfaction. See the end of this article for more ideas!
- Question Block Custom Score Table shows your respondents how they scored in an assessment based on the QB you have created. It is a way to show your respondents in which areas they excel and which areas need improvement.
