Renewed Report Builder: KPI widget

The KPI widget allows you to add a shaded circle or proportion of a charging battery, to display your Key Performance Indicators based on an individual data point.  It is a fun and easy way of showing scores.

This example shows how the widget can be displayed either on a circle or battery charge:

1. Add a KPI widget to the page

To add the widget to the page, all you have to do is click on it and drag and drop it on the page.

If you would like to create columns and split your content in more widgets, then first you would need to select the number of columns you want.


You can find all the different column formats at the layout widgets.

Then you can drag and drop the column widget on your page and add the widget in the column.

Once you add the widget a pop-up window will open where you can setup your widget. 

2. Setup the widget

At the new window click Add KPI. Then fill in the following data.

  1. Label - enter the text to be shown beneath the circle or battery.
  2. KPI value - here's where you can choose where the data for the widget should be taken from. You can either type in a number or click Variables to access the drop-down menu of variables that you can use. Variables take the data entered during the survey and display it in the chart.
  3. Maximum value - this is set at 100 by default as the key performance indicator will usually be shown as a percentage. If you require a different maximum value, simply enter it here.
  4. Color - click the color selector to choose the color of the circle or fill the color of the battery.
  5. Add KPI - you can add as many KPIs as you wish
  6. Show KPI values as percentage - by default, this is toggled on, but you can toggle to turn off displaying as a percentage.
  7. KPI type - click to select if you want the KPI progress displayed as a battery filling up or showing a proportion of a circle.

Once you are finished with your setup, you can click Save and close to preview your widget.

3. Additional settings

Select the widget and then at the right of the screen click on the gear button. The widget list will be replaced by the additional settings.

Here you can find the following settings:

  1. ID
  2. Name
  3. Rules
  4. Margins

This is the ID of the widget.

You can name your widget in order to identify it easier.

3. Rules

You can add your widget logic rules to ensure that your content will be visible only when the conditions are true.

When you click the Edit rule button a new pop-up window will appear.

Select from the dropdown menu the option you want, and then fill in all the required fields. Once you add everything you can click the Submit button.

Your content will not be displayed on the page anymore, instead of the content you will be able to see the widget logic rules.

If you would like to edit your content again just click on the rule and the widget will expand. To edit the rule you would have to click on the Edit rule at the settings.

This is the window where you can delete the rule by clicking on the Delete rule button.

4. Margins

Add margins to create space around elements and move them in your page. By default the margins are set to 0, but you can change that anytime and add the margin you prefer.

4. Additional buttons

When you click on your widget, 4 blue buttons appear.KPI widget- Additional buttons

The Arrow allows you to move between the different layers of the page. For example, if you add a widget in a column then you have 3 layers: the page, the column, and the widget. The arrow allows you to quickly select a different layer.


The second icon, the four arrow sign, allows you to move your widget up or down to the page.

The third icon, the page, allows you to copy this widget, and the forth icon, the bin, to delete it.
